East Midlands GymFusion "A Blockbuster Day"
On Sunday 21st October a dazzling premier took place at the New College Gymnastics Facility in Leicester as GymFusion East Midlands came to town. There were some real life superstars on the day in the form of Olympic Gymnasts Sam Oldham, Imogen Cairns and Francesca Jones. The Olympians were on hand to sign autographs and have photos with the teams before they had a live interview in front of the studio audience.
It was a glittering affair of budding Gymnastics Teams and their Director Coaches as "The Movies" curtain came up. The teams started arriving at 11am and it was hair, make up and costume before lights, camera, action the show began with an opening performance from Erewash Valley Gymnastics Club, Girls to Hairspray. There were superstars galore as one after the other the teams performed to the sell out crowd, Catwoman, Shrek and The Mask were all in attendance disguised as performances from Hinckley Gymnastics Club, Wythall Gymnastics Club and Loogabarooga. As the curtain came down for the first half of the show there was rapturous applause from the audience and an electric atmosphere in Hollywood as the teams walked the red carpet waving to their fans.
As the teams returned to the silver screen for the second half it was Mission Impossible for Kettering Gymnastics Club, Greased Lightning for the Erewash Boys and Galaxy Dance with Mamma Mia showing on the big screen. Then as the final curtain came down the stars shone bright on the GymFusion Walk of Fame. With thanks to all the teams, coaches, helpers and staff, that's a rap for GymFusion East Midlands 2012. We hope that you will all return to the box office next year for the sequel!

This year we will have two performance sessions:
Teams are welcome to attend either performances or only one. The theme for this year's event is ‘The Movies', due to PPL guidelines we cannot allow the following music to be played Disney, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cirque de Soleil so please bear this in mind when creating your routines.
The event will take place on Sunday 21st October at New College, Leicester, LE3 6DN. Entries are £4 per performer or £6 per performer for both sessions
